CSI deploys fill level monitoring sensors for bins in the City of Markham

Mon, Jun 28, 2021

CSI has deployed a pilot program in the City of Markham in partnership with The Salvation Army to monitor fill levels of textile bins using FarSite netBins. This pilot will operate throughout the summer and fall of 2021 with the goal of finding efficiencies, reducing carbon emissions and optimizing routing.

“CSI is excited by this opportunity to be partnered with the City of Markham and The Salvation Army on this pilot program. We believe the netBin platform put forward by FarSite and ourselves will complement Markham’s already very successful textile recycling program” said CSI’s Director of Strategy and Finance Jay Thaya. “Working with The City Of Markham’s representatives has been a great experience and we stand behind them on their journey to recycle 100M pounds of textiles and more.”

FarSite’s Head of Sales and Marketing Lloyd Scott added “FarSite is excited to work with The CSI on another textile monitoring project, this time bringing innovation to The City of Markham and Salvation Army’s textile bins. Our netBin solution has helped many textile collection services around the world identify efficiency gains and early on in the project City of Markham have already identified some areas to reduce their carbon footprint during collections.”
